Nha Trang – one of the most wonderful city in Vietnam that offers beautiful beaches – will give you a different shopping experience from Hanoi and Saigon. The products in size, type and price may not vary as much as 2 heaven on earth for shopping of Vietnam (Hanoi in north and Saigon in the South); but it still have a typical taste of soul of Nha Trang. Follow some tips about what and where you should go when you are there.

1. Seafood, both fresh and dried

You may be like: again, seafood? But remember, the seafood, especially the squid in Nha Trang, is the best in town. With high quality, the squid in medium size will find you well, both fresh and dried. The natural typical light sweet of the squid; delicious smell when they are cook appeal every hard-to-please people.
Once dried squid and ‘muc rim me’, with long expired date and reasonable price, can be a good choice.

2. Dried mango pancake

As known as the favorite among many kinds of cake and pancake, dried mango pancake – banh xoai attracts people with its natural mango sweet and long expired date without any preservative substance. When you want to eat them, just heat for 5 minutes (both side) and enjoy the Vietnamese taste.

3. Bird Spit Soup

Bird spit, with its rich nutrition and many advantages for health (the prevention or treatment of numerous ailments) has been widely recognized in Vietnam and other countries.
You can buy the raw bird spit (cleaned) and bring home to cook or buy the bird spit water which canned and maintain the natural nutrition and taste.

4. Others

You can also find other Vietnamese local gifts such as embroidery, lacquer ware, silk, ceramics and pottery, scarves, garments at any gift shop or souvenirs store. With a wide range of size, type and price; you will easily find out something for your beloved, even Nha Trang can’t not have many shops and markets like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
Having a local friend together is the best, you will know exactly how much and how good it is.


1. Nha Trang center

Located on Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang center has been known as the first mall in Nha Trang that offers a wide range of choice: from luxury brands such as Calvin Klein, Nike, Adidas, Levi’s to shoes, cosmetics, accessories, perfume,…When go to this beachfront complex, you can enjoy yourself at the entertainment center, have meals at the food court or restaurants and chill out with live music at the rooftop pool lounge.

2. Nha Trang Market

As known as the busiest shopping venue in Nha Trang, Nha Trang market (or Dam Market) offers a wide selection with rows of stalls: you can find souvenir shops on the front, then go further to the back to see the local life in the meat and fish area. You can also find handmade clothes, trinkets, fresh produce, and local special products such as dried seafood.

3. Maximark Supermarket

With an ideal location (just 5-min walk from Nha Trang Cathedral), this western-style supermarket not only offer you a chance for buying things but also offer a good chance to relax. After buy some imported food items at the first floor, you can go upstairs for cosmetics, accessories (2nd floor), entertainment at games center or watch a movie at Lotte Cinema.

4. Vinh Luong Market

Vinh Luong Market is a bustling market located on Nha Trang Port. Just spend 20 minute driving then spend whole time enjoying local life, with local residents gather at 4.am to shop fresh seafood, meat and even household. You can also enjoy some special dishes such as spring rolls, pancakes, and papaya salads.

5. XQ Hand Embroidery

XQ Hand Embroidery is a good choice if you are looking for a Vietnamese skillful gifts for your friends. Located along Tran Phu Street, you can find there silk apparel, hand-embroidered portraiture and see local people in traditional clothes work on their new products in the quiet atmosphere while walking around the shops.
